Grand Depart Bowl

This bowl is my personal response to the through the Grand depart of the Tour de France in Yorkshire. The seven area of the bowl represent aspects of Yorkshire important to me/connected to the Tour. Yellow: Tour de France colours
Green:  Verdant Yorkshire dales
Blue:  Yorkshire coast and sea Lilac: Yorkshire Moors Heather  
White: May blossom in the Wolds the colour of the York rose
Brown: Represent the Yorkshire textile industry, important to me as a textile artist
Oranges: the rocks, strata and geology of Yorkshire
The bowl is wet felted with merino and Wensleydale wools, silk fibres and then dense hand stitched on top.
